How to be Proactive in Your Marketing

Terry Boddie, Agency Liaison Director, Marketing Media ManagementGuest Blog post by Terry Boddie, President & Agency Liaison Director at Marketing Media Management

Since it is now essential for your company to stay proactive when performing their marketing, it is equally as important for you to know how to utilize proactive marketing techniques to stay ahead of the curve.

The most important way to stay proactive is to keep up with current technology and what trends that technology is creating. If you are trained in these new technologies your competitors won’t be able to overtake you, and you’ll be able to have a working system in place when others are just starting to discover these technologies.

The next way is to focus your marketing plan on what audience you want to target, and what the goals of your marketing plan are. This way you will be able to research and discover exactly where your potential customers are, what they are looking for, and the best way to reach them. It will also keep your marketing running smoothly and keep you ahead of the competition, without having you waste precious marketing dollars on trying to keep up.

Since being proactive puts you in front of your potential customers before your competition, you need to be able to keep their attention and turn them into loyal customers. Make sure your marketing message is unique, creative, and interesting; otherwise it will be forgotten even though it was the first they heard. If you’re targeting your ideal potential customers, you should know what they are looking for already, and be able to offer them exactly what they want when they want it, and your marketing messaging should reflect this.
